Set the boundary of the fabrication order
Begin by listing the metal items required and the components supplied by your own team. Show the interfaces for displays, instruments, handles, drawer runners or other hardware where they affect the drawing. Confirm which fittings are included in the quotation and which will be installed later. Electrical systems, clinical performance and medical device approval are separate from enclosure fabrication. A clear division of responsibility prevents a drawing review from being mistaken for product validation. It also allows different suppliers to quote the same scope, instead of comparing a bare shell with a partly assembled cabinet.
Describe cleaning and visible surfaces
Tell the equipment designer and fabricator how the housing will be cleaned and which surfaces are exposed. State the material and finish required by the equipment specification. Published work includes stainless steel medical cabinets and instrument housings; material choice still needs review for the particular use. Identify corners, joints and recesses that the designer wants to avoid, rather than assuming a stainless material alone makes a design suitable for every cleaning method. If a brushed direction or consistent appearance across joined panels matters, show it on the drawing. Cleaning compatibility and suitability for the final clinical environment remain matters for the finished product specification and validation.
Plan assembly and maintenance access
An enclosure must allow equipment to be installed and later serviced. Mark removable panels, access openings and the order in which internal parts are fitted. Include cable routes and the space needed to remove a component without dismantling unrelated parts. For drawers and trolley assemblies, provide the mounting interfaces and ask the equipment designer to define the loads and operating conditions. Do not assume that a cabinet photograph establishes the load capacity of a new design. A review of these interfaces before manufacture can identify missing information while changes are still in the drawing rather than in a finished housing.
Use a prototype to check the real interfaces
A prototype provides an opportunity for your team to fit the intended equipment and assess access, appearance and assembly sequence. Shabari accepts single prototype enquiries as well as repeat fabrication work. Agree the sample scope and the checks your team will carry out before treating it as the approved production reference. Record any changes in an updated drawing instead of leaving them only as marks on the sample. If a panel moves or a connector changes, review nearby features too. Production approval should identify the exact revision and any agreed finish reference, so purchasing and engineering are referring to the same housing.
Prepare the documents needed for a useful quotation
Send the enclosure drawing, quantity, material grade, thickness and finish, together with the interfaces that must match your equipment. DXF, DWG, STEP and PDF are accepted, and a sketch or sample can begin the discussion. Identify required inspection or material documents early; mill test certificates are available on request. A separate in-house QC team checks batch dimensions before dispatch. Discuss any additional acceptance records instead of assuming they are included. No. Shabari supplies metal parts and enclosures to the customer specification. The equipment builder must define and validate the complete product, including clinical, electrical and regulatory requirements.
Can I check equipment fit before a repeat order?
Single prototype enquiries are accepted. Agree which interfaces, access points and finish details your team will check, then approve an identified drawing revision before ordering the production batch.
Does stainless steel make the enclosure suitable for any cleaning process?
No. The equipment specification should identify the cleaning environment, material, finish and joint details. Suitability needs review for the actual application and cannot be inferred from the material name alone.
